Yesterday I worked 45m on 2 Gus stories; took my kick scooter downtown; did a freewrite at Palouse Wordsmiths writing group at Sisters Brew while CC journaled & her kids played with Potatoheads; got a Melodie Rai hand massage at Farmers Market; mowed for MM; went hiking with Melodie, Beth & Bowser at Robinson Park; went to RG & DS joint birthday party; went to Poetry Night & had red wine & chocolate

Today I got up before 3:30AM

Today I got up before 3:30AM. Totaled 2 hours of writing before work. After I napped in my car, emailed at OWC, had a coconut milk & grapefruit vegan ice cream cone & salad bar at the Co-op, & am now at Sisters Brew.

Yesterday I got up about 5AM

Yesterday I got up about 5AM & went to bed before 9:30PM. I got some writing done before work. After work I did emailing at OWC. Meanwhile I left the key in my car, partly on. When I went to drive home, the battery was dead. I went back to One World Cafe with my computer, used yellowpages,com, and called for a jump start. Cost $45. I wonder what brain rot in me an MRI would find. At home I did some leisure reading.

Today's UUCP service celebrated the summer solstice

Today's UUCP service celebrated the summer solstice. I opened the church library before and after and did minor editing of the church website then went to the Jerry Swenson (a peace and justice activist) memorial gathering in Pullman and felt inspired by the anecdotes of his life guided by moral principles and his conscience. Bought underwear and socks at Ross. Will work awhile on palouseuu.org, emails and paperwork.

Night before last I stopped emailing & FBing at 9pm

Night before last I stopped emailing & FBing at 9pm. I puttered, read & was in bed by 10:30. Yesterday I woke about 4am. By the time I left for work I'd totaled 1h 45m of creative writing, & I had time before work for another 15m. After work I napped in my car, did errands, emailed, browsed ArtWalk with MR, & emailed at OWC while a local woman singer beautifully sang Mary Hamilton a cappella. Was in bed by 10:30.

Work as a law school library filing clerk

Work as a law school library filing clerk continues to be pleasant. Today after work I did some critiquing, napping & meditating in UI Library vending room then ate vegetarian burrito at the Co-op then at OWC listened to the Jim LaFortune folksinging trio (a mellow, pleasing sound), drank herbal tea, emailed, FBed, critiqued some pages of a friend's novel in progress & worked on "Gus in MS".

Yesterday I discovered

Yesterday I discovered that U of Idaho Library has a vending machine room. Today it became my favorite office. It has a machine where I bought an early morning mocha & a microwave in which I warmed a leftover scone. It has tables & chairs, sockets, bathrooms & 2 computers. Working before & after my filing clerk work at the law library, I totaled 2 hours writing, revising & critiquing. I also napped & meditated.

This afternoon Kayle & I got together

This afternoon Kayle & I got together briefly at One World Cafe then said our good-byes. Aside from a chance of a Moscow stop soon to see her doc about her ulcer, I may not see her for over half a year. Having some time together the past few days reminded me that I like her company as much as ever. I'll be glad when we rendezvous again.

This AM 7-7:40 I walked with MR.

This AM 7-7:40 I walked with MR. I drove part way & scootered part way to & from work. Met Kayle at OWC; I had herbal tea. Donated stuff & bought a Cannonball Adderley LP, a flute & harpsichord LP, books, forks & a salad bowl at Sally Ann. Had soup, bought groceries & enjoyed live music at Co-op. Home with Sox for eve.

Yesterday Kayle & I checked out of Montvale Hotel; went to UU church in Spokane; ate at Burger King; Kayle drove us in her Suburban to Moscow; I showed her my room then she left to go sort out Ellie & meet & stay over with friends or maybe camp in Ellie; I unpacked & made myself supper of ...microwaved corn on the cob, peanut butter, crisp bread, cucumber, pretzels, & pickels; updated a palouseuu.org page; did emailing

Today I worked 15M drafting GUS...LOVER, 1H revising GUS IN MS & 15M reviewing emails from publisher re TSWPA--I should be assigned an editor soon. Kayle & I went to TS's luncheon at Spokane UU church then shopped at Goodwill, napped & went to TS's ordination as a UU minister. Back at the hotel Kayle & I shared a small Tuscany pizza, each had a glass of wine & we listened to a man play guitar & sing songs.

During this week I worked a little extra

During this week I worked a little extra each day so that today I could work a 2 hour half day. I went home, had soup & salad lunch, packed, gave the cat extra food & water, walked to the bus station in a downtown motel & took a bus--writing, reading, & napping on the way--to Spokane. Kayle met me. After dining at Red Lobster & browsing at Barnes & Noble, we're loafing in a downtown hotel.

Yesterday was mostly routine.

Yesterday was mostly routine. In other words, I mostly can't remember it. I rode my Razor scooter from my car in a campus parking lot to the UI Law Library where I'm a part-time filing clerk & rode it back after work. I drove to Office Depot to buy a rubber page turner to wear on my finger at work. I bought a slow cooker & an electric water boiler at B, B & B. I bought produce, crisp bread, & dry cat food at Winco.

Last night I made the mistake of emailing & FBing at bedtime

Last night I made the mistake of emailing & FBing at bedtime, which kept me mentally engaged instead of sleepy and pushed bedtime hours into the night. Got to sleep past 1pm. Not up till nearly 7am. Now I've little time for writing. I want to normally and regularly get up between 4am and 5am. Resolutions: Don't overdo emailing and facebooking. Do both during the day, not after 9pm.

Yesterday I went to Stone Soup Sunday service, an annual tradition at UUCP; stayed for congregational meeting that voted to have sanctuary and foyer of the church professionally painted & 4 windows replaced; opened library before & after & processed a few books; sat in on Secular Fellowship discussion on joining American Humanist Association & on intuition; at Thai House had pad thai & green tea; quiet eve in my room

Today I went to Palouse Wordsmiths meeting with CC at Sisters--did a timed freewrite & planned a PW poster; went through Farmers Market then went for the afternoon to One World where I had blueberry green trea & a light snack & was productive by alternating sitting at a table to write or critique in 15M spurts (total 90M + 60M) & standing at a counter to email & FB; had soup at Co-op; did paperwork & tidying this eve

Today I took my laptop with me to work in my knapsack

Today I took my laptop with me to work in my knapsack & worked on fiction 15 minutes before work, during lunch & at break. Counting early AM & after work at OWC, I totaled 2 hours of writing. My library filing job + my freelance writing = full-time work. I supped at the Co-op on broccoli cheese soup and grilled cheese sandwich. I did some errands & forgot some. This eve I'll do emailing, paperwork & tidying.

Today I worked at my filing job at University of Idaho Law Library; emailed & napped at UI Library; totaled an hour of fiction writing; bought a few books at Salvation Army; for supper had a microwaved corn on the cob, a napa & tomatoes salad & granola with coconut milk; this eve I'll do some emailing, paperwork & tidying; the cat is cat napping on an arm of the armchair where I'm sitting.

The UI law library was closed Monday for Memorial Day

The UI law library was closed Monday for Memorial Day & the rest of the week I'm working 5 hour instead of 4 hour days. I continue to like my work filing legal stuff pages in ring binders & shelving serials. Tuesday I cooked potatoes & carrots with my new electric digital steamer & yesterday I made popcorn in my microwave with my new Presto PowerPop bowl. I've done better than an hour a day of creative writing.

Monday I wrote thank you emails re my birthday; did a little more organizing of my room; sat DM's & KC's preschool boy from mid afternoon to evening & saw video Everybody's Hero & they fed me chicken, rice, peas & a sauce with morel mushrooms they'd picked in the woods & we saw video Alexander The Great & DM told the history
